Samsung reportedly looks set to release a mid-range tablet that might be the new addition to the Galaxy Tab A series.

The tablet rumored to be in the works is said to be just one of the mobile devices planned for the first six months of the incoming year. Plenty of information suggests that the South Korean multinational conglomerate will be launching the new Galaxy Tab A along with Galaxy S10 and its first foldable smartphone in 2019.

New Galaxy Tab A Likely To Launch Q1 2019

According to SamMobile, Samsung is developing the new device under the model number SM-P205. Not many details are provided at this time, but it is expected that additional information will be available in the coming weeks.

Recent reports claim that the South Korean-based company will likely launch the Samsung SM-P205 tablet in the first quarter of 2019, that is if the company's past releases are any indication. The launch event that comes to mind is the Mobile World Congress 2019, which will open on Feb. 28 in Barcelona, Spain.

It is also said that Samsung will debut the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Lite, and the Galaxy S10+ phones on Feb. 20, a week prior to the unveiling of the new tablet. Then in March, the popular smartphone manufacturer is rumored to host another event to showcase the Galaxy S10 5G variant, including the Galaxy Fold foldable phone.

A Mid-Range Tablet

The Galaxy A lineup has been designed as a mid-range tablet, hence, the rumored new tablet is most possibly a mid-range, too and not a flagship offering. It is likely equipped with a base 32GB internal storage option and comes in black and grey colors.

Sources revealed that the tablet will have a firmware under the number P205DXU0ARL4. However, it remains unknown if the new device will be released with the new Android 9 Pie straight out of the box.

Given that it is a mid-range device, it is expected to have relatively thick bezels with aluminum body and an LCD display instead of having a Super AMOLED panel. It will also possibly feature a single rear camera.

Back in August, Samsung released the Galaxy Tab A 10.5, also a mid-range tablet with a 10.5-inch display. It comes with a 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage that is expandable up to 400 GB. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core and runs on Android v8.1 Oreo. Also, it is packed with 7,300mAh Li-Polymer battery.
