During its 2019 Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple announced a slew of new features making their way to the iPhone via iOS 13.

The software update is bringing added functionality and improvements across the board, and the ones that stood out from the pack include the new Dark Mode, QuickPath, Sign In with Apple, and Audio Sharing.

Going From Light To Dark

Dark Mode doesn't need an explanation, but just to be clear, it turns the iPhone's usual white design into black and gray. That way, it's more friendly to the eyes, especially during the night.

While it's still unclear, it seems that this will be system-wide. However, there's always the chance that it won't work with certain apps.

A dark mode has been a much-requested feature on various apps and platforms, including Android. At that, it was only a matter of time before it came to iOS.

From Typing To Swiping

Called QuickPath, the feature lets iPhone users slide across the letters of the virtual keyboard to type. With this in place, typing with one hand is going to be a lot easier.

It's worth noting that both Android and iOS users have been able to do this for a long time already by way of third-party apps, but now Apple is bringing support for it to its own keyboard app.

One-Tap Sign-In

Thanks to Sign In with Apple, users won't have to use an email address or something along those lines when logging into an app or account.

Basically, it's the same as the social login buttons of Google and Facebook, but the difference is that users' personal information will stay on their device, such as their email address, as noted.

In short, it'll be harder for third-party apps and the like to collect data.

Music Sharing

As it turns out, a rumor back in May is true: Apple is bringing dual Bluetooth audio connection to the iPhone, calling the feature Audio Sharing. The gist of it is, users can stream audio to two pairs of AirPods, meaning two users can listen to the same song, TV show, or movie at the same time.

Apple says the developer preview of iOS 13 is already available, and a stable build with all the new features will be rolling out to the iPhone 6s and later models sometime in fall.
