Most of the time, Facebook users are struggling to rush and delete a few of their posts they find embarrassing after a round of review and re-reads. However, before they do so, some of their online friends might have already viewed them.

To battle it out, Facebook, on Tuesday, June 2, announced its newest feature known as "Manage Activity," letting users delete or archive these shameful posts easier, The Verge reported.

With the new feature, they will be able to clean up their image online, and still appear great in front of their virtual friends. It removes the painstaking effort to delete these posts one by one.

The logic is simple: deleting a group of posts will remove these from your timeline. Meanwhile, archiving them allows you to access these posts, but nobody else will.

Embarrassing posts

There are listicles online that review these embarrassing posts from Facebook users -- of course, removing their names. Even television show host Ellen DeGeneres featured these types of posts in her show.

The new feature will let users review and then re-organize these posts. Then, they can also filter them by date, tagged friends or people, post type, and more categories. Here's a Facebook statement from a blog post:

"Whether you're entering the job market after college or moving on from an old relationship, we know things change in people's lives, and we want to make it easy for you to curate your presence on Facebook."

Certain issues

There have been several updates around Facebook since its very first launch. But these do not happen without issues that have challenged the existence of the platform. Perhaps no one can imagine life without this social networking website, can't they?

Issues on privacy and identity are present, with a few ones even reaching the high court. For example, in 2014, a new Facebook feature that allowed users to search older posts alerted critics, saying that this may reveal embarrassing posts one has shared in the past.

The older way to delete these was to head over to Activity Log, and manually change up the audience. Now, with the new feature, everything comes off very easily.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg once noted, "One challenge in building social tools is the 'permanence problem. As we build up large collections of messages and photos over time, they can become a liability as well as an asset."

More Facebook updates

The work to improve the way Facebook users utilize the platform continues. While it is a celebration for many, including Facebook pages, the road is still far from achieving perfection. Reports also noted how Gmail enabled a related feature about a decade ago. Meanwhile, Twitter still lacks this type of feature. Users will have to enable Twitter plug-ins to make these kinds of features work.

Meanwhile, Zuckerberg is strong with his stand to let U.S. President Donald Trump threaten violence against protesters right on the social networking platform, despite critics saying these must be controlled. Civil rights activists and groups are in one prompting and urging the Facebook CEO to take notice and make a special turn.
