From time to time, we tend to forget some things: from a simple word to the name of an old friend you saw, or where you left your car keys. These simple memory lapses happen, a normal part of aging. However, to at least prevent these things from happening, you may take these simple suggestions:

  1. Write yourself notes, so you will be notified of your what-to-dos.
  2. Place your keys, phone, or your wallet in the same place each day.
  3. Play word games or crossword puzzles to activate your memory.

It is better to practice your memory than allow it to lose it completely. After all, memory loss is also a symptom of Alzheimer's disease. You might worry that your small instances of lapses already signify something more serious. Some 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's, and most of them over 65 years old. While the disease is irreversible, it can still be controlled. But simply forgetting a person's name or losing your keys does not automatically mean you got Alzheimer's. It could just be memory loss. Aside from normal aging, it should be noted though that other conditions contribute to memory loss. These include: Stress and anxiety that may arise from any cause

  • Depression
  • Side-effects of medication
  • Alcoholism
  • Vitamin B12 deficiency or a low thyroid level
  • Any kind of illness
  • Meanwhile, a person experiencing a more serious memory loss may not be aware of the problem. This may make family members seem more worried than the person. Thus, if your loved one talks to you about your memory, take their concerns, and consider seeing a doctor.

Keep forgetting your keys? Using a Tile Mate helps

    Tile Mate

    The world's best-selling Bluetooth tracker

The Tile Mate is released in 2018 by Tile Inc., following the success of the Tile Slim in 2016. While the Slim can easily slide into your wallet, purse, or pocket, the Mate can be attached to your keys, phone, wallets, or anything you want to locate at any time.

You can also attach this best-selling Bluetooth tracker on a flat surface like a laptop using Tile adhesive that is sold separately.

You may use your smartphone to ring your Tile Mate when it is nearby but cannot find it. If within the 150ft Bluetooth range, the Tile will play loud music until you find the lost item.

In case you cannot find your phone, you may press the button on your Tile Mate twice to make your phone ring. This will work, even when the phone is in silent mode. The Tile also works with Alexa, and you can add voice control on it through an Alexa device.

Meanwhile, if your tile Mate is beyond the Bluetooth range, you may seek help from other Tile community members through the Community Find. The Tile app on their phones can send updates on the location of your Tile. This will make the search much easier.

The Mate includes a replaceable CR1632 battery that can work for one year from activation. Then, you can buy a replacement battery and easily change it yourself.

Although Tile has already discontinued producing the Tile Mate, you can still purchase it at some sellers in Amazon.
