A particular jetpack has been used by an individual flying about 3000 feet in Los Angeles on Sunday and the FBI along with the Federal Aviation Administration are both searching for the owner of the jetpack device seen piloting the skies.

Fox 11 Los Angeles reports that an American Airlines pilot actually contacted the air traffic controllers over at LAX sometime around 6:35 PM on Sunday warning them that he had spotted a "guy in a jetpack."

The pilot's report regarding the mysterious jetpack

The pilot was just about 3,000 feet in the air and just about 10 miles out approaching landing when they spotted an unknown vehicle just about 300 yards away. Another pilot identified as flying for SkyWest in audio later on confirmed that indeed there was a Mr. Jetpack within the eyesight of their own plane.

The peculiar conversation was made available via the air traffic control radio transmission site known as LiveATC. The transcript includes the peculiar conversation with the pilot literally saying that they just passed a certain "guy in a jetpack".

They were then asked to confirm on which side did they see the person with a jetpack and the pilot said that it was their right side. The pilot then estimated that the person was about 300 yards and about their altitude.

The SkyWest pilot then came in with a call just moments after saying they just saw a guy that was passing by them with a jetpack. Air traffic controllers, later on, warned a Jet Blue flight about the person with the jetpack.

The unknown jetpack flyer

Although there were efforts made to find out a little more from the pilot, these went nowhere and a representative from the American Airlines told FOX 11 that they should get in contact with FAA. FAA then stated that they turned the reports over to the local LAPD for them to investigate.

It is quite possible, as reported by Gizmodo, that the LAPD could try to locate this person by using a helicopter or maybe a ground patrol. However, LAPD denies to FOX 11 that they have received a report of this kind from the FAA themselves.

The big question people are asking

One thing about this situation being investigated is the accuracy of the reports that were filed by the pilots about the exact nature of the particular vehicle in question. The main action of flying an unauthorized aircraft within controlled airspace actually increases the risk of a possible midair collision with some potentially catastrophic consequences.

There is still a huge possibility that the pilots were wrong with what they saw and it could have been a huge drown or maybe another aircraft resembling a certain guy in a jetpack if you look at it with a naked eye. This case would be less of a headscratcher.
