By letting in a stranger enter your base, you are allowing another playable character while writing a new ending to the story. State of Decay became successful because it brings the player within the character and the actual situation instead of just being a bystander.

3. Resident Evil

Resident Evil is perhaps the epitome of a zombie game and it definitely is one of the best horror games, without the superfluous complexities attached on to future sequels. If you enjoyed playing the classic RE4, you will surely get scared from your gut in Resident Evil 7 as one of the strengths of the game are the frights you get in playing the game.

Trapped in the famously labyrinthine Spencer Mansion, as Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, ravenous zombies and dangerous mutations lie behind every corner in Resident Evil, often obscured or blocked by inventive environmental puzzles. Fixed camera angles intensify the sensation of claustrophobia and your limited inventory keeps you feeling vulnerable.
