Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently revealed that he had a C5-C6 spinal cord surgery. This was the response of the SpaceX founder to a question by Twitter user Andy Phillips who noticed a scar located somewhere on Elon's neck. Phillips also has a similar scar, prompting his curiosity as to whether or not Elon Musk had surgery.

Elon Musk reveals that his first surgery was a failure

The tech CEO then stepped in and stated that he previously had a Mobi-C, which is a type of cervical disc prosthesis, that has previously been put at his C5-C6 segment of his spinal cord. He then revealed shocking news that the first surgery was actually a failure as it was not able to remove the bone spur that was sticking straight into his spinal cord.

He then said that the second surgery turned out to be a success. Elon Musk is normally a man who does his research before he suggests something and this is evident in his many interviews like a particular one he had with Jim Bridenstine of Everyday Astronaut, a popular YouTube channel and Twitter page.

Elon Musk, with regards to his previous surgeries, suggests people to use Yelp or maybe other types of online reviews specifically of doctors. He stated that the effectiveness varies widely but that was his general recommendation.

Elon Musk's Neuralink. Could they be related?

Elon Musk's most recent company known as Neuralink has been revolving around technology that improves and restores certain bodily movements by improving the way the brain works. Neuralink has recently announced a coin sized chip that the company wants to be able to later on insert into the skull in order to have certain thread-like wires facilitate and improve the way the brain works and repair certain functions that have otherwise become problematic.

Although no official correlation was announced, Neuralink wants to help people with physical disabilities either due to injury or naturally born with those disabilities. The goal is to help people who have lost certain body functions due to injuries and regain it along with improving existing ones.

Neuralink has received mixed reviews and an article has been written by Fortune about him tackling the question, "Could Neuaralik possibly affect his reputation?" Despite the mixed reputation Neuralink has received, both Tesla and SpaceX have been pretty successful this year and are only growing bigger despite the ongoing pandemic. While other companies like Airbnb have almost been crushed by the pandemic, Tesla and SpaceX have rose in value according to an article by Electrek.
