"League of Legends" Patch 10.22 is finally here after a gruelling wait and unexplained server downs in the past week, bringing forth its new champion, the Starry Song-eyed Songstress Seraphine. Riot is debuting the new champion in the latest Public Beta Environment (PBE) patch that allows players to get to know the character and map its strengths and abilities.

'League of Legends' Patch 10.22: Seraphine, the Starry Song-eyed Songstress

According to League of Legends' Patch Notes, players should expect the appearance of Seraphine when updating to the current version of the game to discover the champion and prepare for the next major patch. The next update would be a preseason kickstarter that the developers hope, would include Seraphine as a widely-played champion in the game.

Recently, "League of Legends" servers went down due to unknown reasons, and suspicion surrounds the upcoming release of the Patch 10.22 that would bring several Champion buffs, nerfs, and several skill adjustments. However, the public did not expect a new champion drop from the League.

Seraphine is under the "Public Beta Environment" (PBE) release on Patch 10.22, meaning that this is still not yet the final build version of the new character, but is rolled out for players to map out and experience. Riot developers offer a PBE version of newly-released or updated Champions for players to experience before buying in the store.

Seraphine First Look: Build, Guide, Skills, and Stats

"League of Legends's" Seraphine is from Piltover that rose to fame as a pop star and entertainer before joining the "league" and fighting for Zaun. Seraphine is an AP mage that heavily focuses on magic damage to defeat enemy champions in the middle lane.

Seraphine Skills

  • Passive - Stage Presence

Every third ability would create stacks of "Notes" that can empower both attack and magic damage against enemies.

  • Q - High Note

Projects a full note that deals magic damage upon hit, increasing based on the target's health percentage.

  • W - Surround Sound

Grants shield and movement speed to self and surrounding allies (up to 2), and heals allies when already shielded

  • E - Beat Drop

Releases a sound wave to enemies in a line, slowing enemies. Slowed enemies would be rooted, and rooted enemies would be stunned upon recast.

  • R - Encore

Seraphine releases a massive force that deals magic damage and charms enemies towards the champion. Allies who are in proximity can extend the range of the skill and gain additional damage stats to use.

Seraphine Champion Stats

  • Health - 500 + 80
  • Health Regen - 6.5 + 0.6
  • Mana - 440 + 40

Seraphine Build and Guide

According to Mobafire's Rezoneverified's Diamond Master AP Mid Build, Seraphine is a hard-hitting AP Mage that deals massive magic damage against enemies. Select Ignite and Flash for Summoner Spells as she will mostly take the role as "Solo Mid" and fight-off against other heavy-hitter mages.

Starting Items:

  • Doran's Ring
  • Corrupting Potion
  • Health Potions

Final Build:

  • Luden's Echo (Late-game swap for Banshee's Veil)
  • Hextech GLP-800
  • Zhonya's Hourglass
  • Morellonomicon
  • Rabaddon's Deathcap
  • Sorcerer's Shoes (Late-game swap for Void Staff)

Seraphine mostly uses skill shots or direction-based skills that have no lock-on targets and cooldowns are long, so it is advised that players cast abilities wisely. Early game Seraphine would be strong against melee match-ups but weak against heavy-hitters such as Lux or LeBlanc. The pop star is a late-game champion that has excellent Area of Effect (AoE) and Crowd Control (CC) skills for teamwork plays.
