The release of the Xbox Series X along with one of the most anticipated shooter game of 2020, "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War," should have been a celebration for gamers as it finally lands to users. However, that is not the case due to the existing problems that interrupt gameplay.

According to Comicbook Gaming, Xbox Series X users are reporting the development of the new game through Twitter, expressing complaints and grievances over the unexpected occurrence. The problem is also not yet determining if it is Xbox's software or systems that cause the shutdown.

Twitter user Jeremy curtiss (@remy88pomona), recently tweeted to Treyarch to report that his Xbox Series X is crashing and shutting down while playing "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War." Treyarch is the co-developer of the latest "COD" game, together with Activision.

Several users also agree with the user's tweet, saying that they are also experiencing the same problem with their respective Xboxes. Some users are asking for a refund on the console, while some are placing the blame on the developers of "Black Ops Cold War."

'COD: Black Ops Cold War' Xbox Series X Shut Down: Microsoft or Activision's Fault?

This issue may be the first major problem of Microsoft's Xbox Series X especially during the early weeks of its debut. The occurrence may pinpoint that several system settings of the new console may not be compatible with Activision's latest title that continues the "Call of Duty" franchise.

However, since gamers have no further discoveries regarding the game and with Activision not revealing any details regarding the case, the bug or problem cannot be entirely put to Microsoft's Xbox Series X. This issue also opens the possibility to "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's" system and game files which may be overrun with bugs.

Numerous users are experiencing the same problems on the Xbox Series X. Only one user testifies regarding "COD Black Ops Cold War's" buggy system affecting its counterpart, Sony's next-generation console, the Playstation 5, which also receives the same title.

According to Twitter user Nema (@SuperNema108), it happened twice on her PlayStation 5 console while playing the game. However, According to Comicbook Gaming's report, there are no known issues regarding the title malfunctioning or shutting down the PS5.

Additionally, the PS5 has another "timed exclusive mode" that the Xbox Series X does not have. The game itself is seeing its incompatibility with Microsoft's console which users and gamers of Xbox will suffer whenever playing "Call of Duty."
