Battery issues with old Apple devices has been a topic of concern for a long time now. Moreover, with significant changes in iOs updates, battery life further decreases. User Shares Fix for iOS Battery Drain Issue

According to him, with the latest 14.3 update, there has been a significant decrease in his battery life. Despite trying many solutions, nothing seemed to stop the battery from draining.

"I have an iPhone 6S and a battery with 98% battery health. I noticed since 14.2 / 14.3 there has been a battery drain. I tried many things, such as disabling SiRi, location services etc, but nothing worked." he said in the forum.

Thus, he offered a solution for this problem, which many users in the platform also resonated. "Through must testing, I tried the following and the battery drain stopped (while the screen is off). I went to bed with 95% and woke up with 95% battery life." He guarantees that the solution worked well for him.

Here are the following changes that the user has made in his device where he claims has worked well in "stopping battery drain."

iOS Photo Settings

In his photos settings, he disabled the Auto Play Videos and Live Photos as well as the Show Holiday Events options in the settings. Moreover, he also ticked the Transfer to Mac or Pc "automatic" option.

iCloud Settings

In the iCloud settings, he enabled Safari, News, Stocks, Home, Health, Wallet, Game Center, Siri, Keychain, iCloud backup, but he disabled Messages.

iOS Battery Health Settings

In the battery health settings, he set Maximum capacity to 98%, set it to Peak performance, and disabled optimized battery charging.

According to the user, the following changes has made significant improvement in his battery life. "Here is my battery for today. It's on decreased a few percent from 7am to 3pm. A big improvement."

iOS 14.3 Update Causes Battery Drain Problems

However, he also noted that the primary reason for his significant battery degradation is probably his update with the iOS 14.3. When replying to users who also pointed out on the probable cause, he replied by saying "I agree though. 14.2 and 14.3 are the issue. I shouldn't have to play around with the settings."

Apparently, updating to latest software updates with iOS has significant impact on the battery life, especially for older Apple devices. Apple is yet to say something about the battery drain issue that their users have experienced in line with complying with the recent updates.
