There's a new rumor traveling like wildfire across the Internet that claims Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be split into two movies. The first would be released Oct. 23, 2015, while the second would hit the date of March 25, 2016.

As expected, many fans gravitated toward the rumor with great excitement and hope. After all, who wouldn't want to see two Batman v Superman movies in just 5 months? We definitely would, but let us be sensible about this; it is never going to happen.

A lot of prominent entertainment websites have run with this rumor as if it were true, never once considering that this whole thing is bogus.

The rumor itself began with a mere image on Imgur. The author claimed it came from the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer, and that it was taken via his iPhone. Now, if a person had the intention of recording the trailer, then why is it that this person only managed to capture the very end of it? Makes no sense.

Furthermore, why is it just an image rather than a 10-second shaky cam video? Another thing, the font used is very different when compared with the one used by Warner Bros. on the film's official website. A very clear sign that this image is fake, but none of the big websites took notice, which is quite odd to say the least.

Additionally, the background looks similar to the opening of Superman Returns. Then again, who can blame anyone for not spotting it because the movie wasn't good, and thus will go unrecognizable by many DC fans.

Finally, around three months ago, Warner Bros. released its slate of superhero movies for the whole world to see. For those with short memories, nothing was said about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice kicking off in 2015. In fact, the author of the image went as far as to call the first film, Batman v Superman Part 1: Enter The Knight, while the next part is called Batman v Superman Part 2: Dawn of Justice.

For those with high hopes, remove thyself from that high horse because we believe disappointments are inbound. The new movie won't come out until 2016, so be sure to keep that in mind for the next year.
