"Magic: The Gathering" (MTG) will be launching "Strixhaven: School of Mages," the 87th expansion of the popular trading card game. The event will run next week, Apr. 23.

If you want to physically experience the actual event, you could go to the local gaming stores on Friday, Apr. 16. Other than that, get to know the pre-release kit products as well as the full patch notes of the 2021.04 update.

Since the pandemic erupted, many events have been postponed and translated to virtual conferences and meetings.

In the United States, you could still head to the stores to purchase "Magic: The Gathering" products from the pre-release kits. You could pick them up from the store so you could play safely in your home, Bleeding Cool reported.

You should not miss this event and you could still play with your friends or you might visit Spell Table to challenge other challengers online.

Additionally, here are the possible items that you could acquire from the "Strixhaven: School of Mages" pre-release kits

  • (x1) 20-sided, spindown die

  • (x1) foil, promo card which you could obtain as rare or mythic rare (date-stamped)

  • (x1) booster pack which varies to your chosen "Strixhaven" college

  • (x5) "Strixhaven: School of Mages: draft boosters

After getting the pre-release kit, you can now customize your 40-card deck. Moreover, you should expect that Spelltable will offer you fun-only Sealed play events and not consider the prize that you want.

However, it is still possible for a store to give incentives to the customers by giving bonus card packs. The event will run starting from Apr. 16 to Apr. 23.

'Magic: The Gathering Arena Strixhaven' Full Patch 2021.04

Through "Magic Online" and "MTG Arena," you could now access digital classes for "Strixhaven." Moreover, besides the 275 cards, there are Mystic Archive cards that will arrive together with the upcoming change in the sideboard appearance, Dotesports reported.

Also, the sideboard will now hold up to seven cards in the best-of-one format through a new "Strixhaven" lesson mechanic. You can find the lessons and the Mystic Archive in a booster pack.

Gameplay Updates

  • Updated auto tap

  • "Shuffle your library" now becomes "Shuffle"

  • "Converted mana cost" changed to "mana cost"

  • Players can now select Bo1 or Bo3 sideboard

  • Summoning sickness now shown by noncreature permanents

  • Jaspera Sentinel and other related cards acquired a stop

  • Modal triggered abilities will no longer be auto targeted by MTG Arena

Bug Fixes

  • Improved pet location adjustments for mobile gaming

  • "Pass Priority" bug now fixed which previously triggers button to be non-functional

  • Planeswalker exiled by Banishing Light will not anymore have two starting loyalty

  • Fixed an issue where creatures with modal choice fight abilities were fighting twice if you had another creature with a similar ability in hand.

  • Creatures that have gained an ability, then lost that ability were still showing VFX associated with the gained ability, even though it wasn't in effect. The client now displays this creature correctly.

  • Fixed bug where online players are displayed as offline

  • Fixed reconnection issues during sideboarding

  • No time added to the timer when targeting Kelpie Guide with other of its kind

  • Banned card, Channel now works through Autotap

  • Full Control toggle for players who use browsers

  • "Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery" is now updated

  • Cards that browse a subset of cards in exile now do a better job of only showing relevant cards
