However, there are still some limitations.

Right now, the popular transaction app only allows overseas payments to India and Singapore. Although this is the case, Google said that it will still expand its list of available countries in the next few years. This means that the Google Pay users could expect transaction support for more than 200 countries.

Google Pay's New Update

According to TechRadar's latest report, the search engine giant confirmed that the latest expansion was motivated by the huge growth in international payments. This sudden increase was first seen during the peak of the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic.

Experts said that the massive growth in international payments happened because users are trying to help their friends, family, and other relatives in other countries to pay for essential expenditures.

These include bills, education, healthcare, and more. On the other hand, Google explained that the users will be able to send money to more than 200 countries through Western Union in the near future.

On the other hand, the mobile app's users will be able to send money to 80 countries through Wise.

Aside from these new capabilities, the search engine giant also announced that the app's users will have unlimited free transfers until June 16.

"For some, sending money back to their home countries is a regular activity and we are making it more accessible by adding it to the app that you use for your everyday money tasks," said the tech giant company.
