Samsung is scheduled to host an event on June 22, and the company is set to talk about the future of technology, including 5G and 6G.

The event title is "Samsung Networks: Redefined," and Samsung wants to announce its plans for creating a "more seamlessly connected society."

Samsung Upcoming Event

The event starts at 10:00 A.M. Eastern Standard time or 11:00 P.M. Korean time. Also, Samsung has released a 15-second teaser for it.

According to the announcement, the company wants to showcase its progress in creating the next generation of networks and wireless communication technologies. People can watch the event through Samsung's official YouTube channel.

One of the hottest topics at the event is the development of the 5G networks. Samsung is a leading company in developing 5G and adding it to its smartphones and laptops. Currently, even some of Samsung's most affordable smartphones feature 5G connectivity.

Aside from the future of technology and the rise of the 5G connectivity, Samsung is also expected to talk about 6G. 6G connectivity is not a new topic for Samsung, and the company has been researching and developing the network for years.

Choi Hyung-Jin, the Research Principal Engineer of Samsung, is the one responsible for leading the 6G department.

The company created a dedicated team to research about 6G connectivity back in 2019.

A Samsung official stated that the current team of telecommunications technology standards had been expanded to start leading on the 6G network.

Samsung's efforts to develop 6G come at a time when 5G still has a long way to go. But it shows that the company is well prepared for the future and aims to maintain its lead.

6G Connectivity in 2028

In 2020, Samsung again mentioned its efforts in creating 6G connectivity. According to Samsung's white paper, 6G connectivity can reach up to 1,000 Gbps data rate, and its latency is as low as 100 microseconds.

The document stated that 6G could begin its initial launch stages in 2028 and expand worldwide in 2030. However, the public should not wait for 6G any tie soon, and it is better to enjoy the benefits of having 5G connectivity.

Expanding the 5G Portfolio

On June 3, Samsung revealed its latest device, the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G smartphone. It is the latest in its 5G collection. The A-Series is created to make Samsung's latest innovative products more accessible to a wider audience.

But why is Samsung keen on developing its 5G connectivity? According to Forbes, 5G can improve the state of technology tenfold. With 5G, it will be possible for surgeons to operate on a patient even if they are miles away.

Immersive applications such as augmented reality and virtual reality will increase in quality, autonomous vehicles can operate properly, and internet-connected appliances can expand their reach.

The 5G technology is the first software-defined wireless standard, and it pushes the bar higher when it comes to innovation. It is still unclear what 6G can do once it launches, but 5G technology will pave the way.
