Perseids Meteor Shower will offer a spectacular view since NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) claims that it is the best one this 2021.

Perseids are pretty popular for star-gazers since it brings fast and bright meteors. On the other hand, these heavenly bodies usually leave a light trail as they pass the Earth during nighttime.

Because of their physical appearance, Perseids are also known as meteor showers of fireballs. This spectacular space event usually happens around summer nights.

Based on NASA's predictions, Perseids Meteor Shower is visible in the Northern Hemisphere from mid-July until the end of August. The best time to watch these fireballs is around August 11 to 13.

Professional star-gazers added that they are also viewable in the pre-dawn hours. But, those who want to see them a little early can go out at around 10:00 p.m.

Perseids Meteor Shower's Details

According to Independent UK's latest report, Perseids meteors are visible to the naked eye since they are the leftover particles of broken comets and asteroids. NASA explained that when comets are passing around the sun, they usually leave a trail of rocks behind them.

When it comes to viewing the space event, NASA said that bad weather could block the meteorites. Because of this, the space agency is providing some alternatives so that people can still watch the Perseids Meteor Shower

"A live broadcast of the meteor shower from a camera at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, (if our weather cooperates!) will be available on the NASA Meteor Watch Facebook starting around 8 p.m. CDT on Aug. 11 and continuing until sunrise on Aug. 12," said NASA.

Perseids Meteor Shower is just one of the many meteor showers that happened and will happen this 2021. Recently, the popular Lyrids Meteor Shower already took place. Many people were able to capture some HD photos using their DSLRs and even smartphones.

If you also want to photograph the upcoming Perseids event, the only thing you need is your handset. To help you further, here are the best settings you can use.

Best Smartphone Settings To Use

Nikon USA explained that if you want to capture meteor showers, you must bring the most important things: a smartphone and tripod. This will allow you to capture a very still image as the Perseids meteors appear.

On the other hand, here are the settings that you need to use:

  • Manual or Professional Mode
  • ISO 4000
  • White balance 4000° Kelvin
