An XFX Speedmaster MERC 319 AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT restock has just been spotted online and although it's selling for $800 past the original SRP, this can still be considered an acceptable price by some gamers that have had to buy the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT for over $2,000. Could scalper prices finally be improving?

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti vs AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT Prices

As of the moment, it's really hard to tell whether the prices of GPUs in general are getting better since they are still being sold at markedup prices and any sign of GPUs being sold at SRP are nowhere to be found. There are, however, certain GPUs like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti that are selling closer to their SRP and this might be the best that buyers can get as of the moment.

Due to the global chip shortage, the supply of certain electronics like GPUs have not been able to compete with demand. While it used to be AMD vs NVIDIA, the battle is now really buyers versus scalpers for whichever brand of GPU is being sold at fair prices. An AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT restock was spotted online by a restock tracker selling for $800 past its SRP.

XFX Speedster MERC 319 AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT Price

The XFX Speedster MERC 319 AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT restock was spotted selling for $1,799 while its original SRP is at $999 according to TechRadar. This is an $800 increase markup above its original SRP.

While there are GPUs online, they are usually being sold for markedup prices making it more difficult for buyers that don't want to spend up to twice the original price. There is, however, an alternative for those that want to game with a good enough graphics card. However, this would mean ditching the conventional PC setup.

What other gamers are doing as of the moment, since buying GPUs has proved to be extremely difficult, is buying laptops with high powered GPUs instead. This would let buyers get units with good enough GPUs without having to spend extra for the whole unit.

PC Building This 2021

Economically, due to the prices of GPUs, PC building is quite difficult to do these days. For those that want to build their PC part by part, the GPU is one of the hardest parts to purchase at a fair price. Luckily, the CPU situation has somewhat improved as an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X was just spotted selling at SRP.

Another reason why GPUs have been extremely hard to purchase nowadays is because gamers aren't the only buyers that these computer parts have. GPUs have been used for crypto mining as well and as the world of cryptocurrency started to get more popular, more and more miners started ramping up their efforts in order to mint more coins. This would mean using a large number of high-powered GPUs in order to get their desired hashrate.
