CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA - AUGUST 27: The TikTok logo is displayed outside a TikTok office on August 27, 2020 in Culver City, California. The Chinese-owned company is reportedly set to announce the sale of U.S. operations of its popular social media app in the coming weeks following threats of a shutdown by the Trump administration.

As per Yahoo's latest report, TikTok already has a tipping feature, but it is only limited to the live streams of their creators.

This time around, TikTok is working on a function that will help its creators earn some money straight from their profile accounts.

TikTok Tipping Feature: How to Apply and Activate it

As mentioned, the tipping feature straight from the profile is still under the experimental stage. That said, only a limited number of users could currently activate the function on their accounts.

To be precise, Bean further revealed in her video, via a screenshot of her application, that a creator needs at least 100K followers to apply for the experimental feature.

On top of that, TikTok also has an age restriction for the tipping feature. That said, users below 18 are not allowed to receive tips from their fans.

What's more, the user also needs to accept the tips terms of the video-sharing platform as part of the application.

However, The Verge noted in its report that the video did state if those who meet the said requirements will get their application automatically approved.

Nevertheless, it could mean that hitting all of these requirements gives a user a higher chance of getting the tipping feature on their profile.
