Amazon Alexa voice recording and history are being used for the functionalities of the smart speakers, but its users could still delete it completely if they want to.

As per the report by Android Central, Amazon makes one of the best smart speakers in the market with the likes of the Echo Dot and the Echo Show 10.

It is worth noting that these smart speakers of Amazon primarily rely on the voice command of its users. Thus, it stores them to keep the Echo devices from working smoothly.

Amazon further noted that the voice history from its users helps in improving the overall experience of the Echo speakers.

But still, the retail tech giant provides its users with a way for them to view and delete the voice data that the smart speakers are using. Both can be done from the Privacy Hub of the Alexa app.

How to Delete Amazon Alexa Voice History

To cut to the chase, here's how to completely delete your entire Amazon Alexa voice history.

It is to note that the Alexa app found on smartphones does tons of things--from adding a smart home device to managing your Echo speakers.

Not to mention that it could also help create Alexa routines, as well as allow its users to manage their voice recordings.

That said, here's how to delete your Amazon Alexa voice history via the Alexa app on your phone.

  • Download the Alexa app from the Google Play Store for Android phones or the Apple App Store for iOS devices.
  • Then, open Alexa on your smartphone.
  • Select the hamburger menu icon found on the lower right side of the interface.
  • Next, tap the gear icon seen beside the Settings option.
  • Scroll and select Alexa Privacy.
  • After which, tap the Review Voice History.
  • Then, select the drop-down menu found beside the Displaying section.
  • Choose from the Filter by date option.
  • To complete the entire voice history, select "all history."
  • After which, click the Delete all recording from.
  • Lastly, tap the Delete button.

Amazon and Alexa Voice History

However, Amazon previously admitted that it does not automatically let go of all of the deleted voice data stored in its servers for the voice interactions of Alexa and Echo device users.

In fact, the tech giant confessed that it still stores some voice data, in some cases, even after users already went on to wipe them out from their accounts.

Amazon explicitly revealed it in a letter to Senator Chris Coons way back on June 28, 2019, according to the news story of The Verge.
