iPhone users, here's how to add a heart, fire, or smiley icon on your status bar by using the latest feature that Apple introduces in its iOS 15 updates.

It turns out that there has been a trend out there that lures iPhone users to use the new feature of iOS to add fancy icons on top of their screens.

Although the new iOS 15 functionality is not really meant for merely aesthetic purposes, iPhone users are doing it just because they could.

iPhone and Heart, Fire, Smiley Icons

The new focus mode of iOS 15 gives tons of options to keep your hands off your phone, as per the report by 9to5Mac.

It could be either you are driving, sleeping, reading, meditating, as well as gaming, or working.

However, Apple decided to give its users a choice to customize it. It comes as some folks out there have varying reasons to turn on the focus mode aside from the typical choices.

On top of that, the custom option allows iPhone users to change the icon of the focus mode option, leaving fancy symbols on the status bar of the device.

As such, there are actually numerous icon options to choose from aside from the heart, smiley, and fire. It also includes choices like a paw, leaf, home icon-to name a few. Essentially, there are tons of emojis to choose from that iPhone users could enjoy.

It is worth noting that iPad users could do this to their tablets as well, as long as they are running the iPadOS 15 on their device, according to MacWorld. 

On the flip side, iPhone users could only apply this customization feature on their device if they have at least an iOS 15 installed.

How to Put Hearth, Fire, Smiley Icons on iPhone/iPad Status Bar

That said, here's how to put a custom icon on the status bar of either an iPhone or an iPad by using Focus Mode.

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Scroll down and look for "Focus."
  • Then, tap the Focus option.
  • After which, select the Custom button.
  • Next, choose the icon that you'll want to use.
  • Name your custom Focus Mode.
  • Then, select contacts who can send notifications
  • Allow your apps to send alerts.
  • After which, select the Done button.
  • And lastly, switch to Focus mode to show your custom icon on the status bar.
