An Amazon-owned Twitch account was banned after a presenter accidentally revealed her breast during a livestream. The Prime Video channel that is in Spanish was suspended from Twitch on Dec. 19, without any public reason given.

However, it followed a segment on the talk show "Esto es un Late" where the controversial incident happened.

Twitch Bans Prime Video Channel

Twitch has very strict rules regarding nudity on camera, whether it be partial or full nudity. The community guidelines of Twitch states that women must cover their nipples as they do not permit exposed busts.

The platform also does not permit any sexually suggestive content like focusing the camera on the host's buttocks, breasts, or pelvic area.

The hosts of "Esto es un Late" were right at the end of their livestream when one of them, a comedian named Henar Alvarez, lifted her shirt, jokingly stating that it was one way to end the broadcast lasted for hours, according to BBC.

While laughing, Alvarez kept saying that they were going to get banned because of what she died. The stream cut to a title card for seconds, but it returned to the live feed before Alvarez's breasts were no longer seen on screen.

The stream immediately ended. Within a couple of hours, the Prime Video channel was banned from Twitch. Another host of the show, Mister Jagger, wrote on Twitter that "Esto es un Late" is the best streaming program in the world.

Kotaku reported that this was the first time that an account owned by Amazon was banned from Twitch. It is still not clear how long the suspension will last.

Twitch does not discuss the details of its disciplinary action in public, and its bans take a very long time before it gets lifted.

The livestreaming platform has an appeals process for streamers who want to get their ban lifted or the length shortened.

Twitch, which began as a video game streaming platform and has since changed to an all-purpose platform, has had numerous issues with sexually suggestive content over the past few years.

In 2020, xQc was banned on Twitch for nudity.

The rule was implemented in 2014, as Twitch banned on-air nudity to protect viewers who are minors.

In the past, some female streamers would dress in a way that some viewers call suggestive. These female streamers were called "booby streamers" by viewers. This led to the implementation of a dress code in 2018.

Hot Tub Streaming

Recently, the rise of the hot tub meta, where streamers would livestream in swimwear from a hot tub, raised the same concern about what should be and should not be allowed on the platform, according to The Verge.

Earlier this year, one of the most famous streamers named Amouranth had revenue from advertisements removed from her account. This is even though she claimed that she did not break any rule.

Amouranth is famous on the platform for her video streams while on a hot tub. Her antics became a topic among users in the past few months.

However, swimwear is permitted under the platform's own rules. Allegedly, she was targeted because her streams are not considered advertiser-friendly.
