After being de-platformed on Twitter, former President Donald Trump announced in October that he would launch a new social media application dubbed "Truth Social."

After a few months, the app officially made its way to the Apple App Store on Monday, Feb. 22, to commemorate President's Day 2022. While users were hyped prior to its release, its debut unexpectedly disappointed many people who have used it.

Here are some of the problems that people noticed on the first day of using Truth Social.

Here are some of the problems that surprised the users on the first day of Trump's Truth Social app on Apple's App Store.

On Sunday, Feb. 20, Trump Media & Technology Group CEO Devin Nunes announced the launch of Truth Social, which will first take place on the iOS platform. At that time, the organization aimed to achieve its goal of rolling it out in the United States in late March of this year.

Before it entered the App Store, users were given an opportunity to pre-order it so they could download it later, according to a report by Reuters.

In another article written by CNET, Trump's Truth Social immediately became a crowd favorite on the platform after it hit the number one spot in the charts. However, getting the top position in the list does not always guarantee the app's success.

It is to note that some users complained about its usability. Others noticed that its features needed further improvement. All over Twitter, people raised their concerns about this new social media platform.

Why Truth Social App Dismayed the Users

Gizmodo compiled in its report the reasons why many users were disappointed with the debut of the Donald Trump-led app.

First, some users had reportedly received erroneous alerts on their end when they inputted their personal information, such as phone number and birth date. Some also reported that they failed on account registration.

There's so much to see in this app. Eternal waitlists also doomed the users to the point that they needed to take five tries before getting past the registration process.

Indeed, some apps have long waitlists, especially on the release date. However, the most alarming part here is that people were informed of their number on the waitlist, which consists of thousands of users.

Twitter Error

Some moved up on the waitlist upon receiving an email from Truth Social, while others fell behind the numbers. Furthermore, there's also a "partial outage" that took place in the app. It reportedly lasted for almost 14 hours. The status page of the website said that this was due to the users' traffic.

To add, people also dealt with broken "Terms of Service." According to them, they were denied access to the page. This means that it won't load either.

Regarding its beta version, Gizmodo also indicated in its report that there was a security flaw in the early launch of Truth Social. Some developers discovered bugs upon testing the app. Last year, Trump's TRUTH account was hacked before the November beta release took place.

It also appears that Truth Social had a copyright strike after it allegedly copied another logo from a different company.

Vice spotted the significant resemblance of Truth Social's logo to UK-based fuel efficiency firm Trailar.

"Based on recent news brought to our attention by various media outlets, showcasing the similarities between our own Trailar logo and the Truth Social logo, we are now seeking legal advice to understand next steps and options available to protect our brand," Trailar's head of marketing answered in an interview with the tech site.
