BMW issued a recall for millions of its cars because of a safety risk and fire hazard due to an electrical short on its engines, particularly in its ventilation system that may result in spontaneous combustion. The German manufacturer recalls its vehicles worldwide, as it is a problem faced by many and not isolated to one country only.

The US NHTSA issued a safety recall report that detailed the many BMW vehicles that have risks for a fire hazard on its engine bay, particularly on its ventilation systems. The issue focuses on an electrical short on its engine bay that centers on the crankcase ventilation valve heater that can cause overheating that may lead to combustion.

The fire risk may occur when the vehicle is parked and when the engine is off, or it may also happen when the car is driven by its owner. The cars included in the recall include those released from 2006 to 2013 and focus on the many lineups of the German car manufacturer that released them over time.

Despite BMW featuring several all-electric vehicles, its focus lies faithfully on the ICEs available in the market. The same ICEs are under fire for their safety risks, particularly to earlier models released by the company now.

The vehicles include the Z4, X3, X5, the 1 Series, the 3 Series, and the 5 Series cars from several years ago. No reports show that new cars after 2013 are a part of this recall.

BMW and its Car Technology

BMW is famous for its performance vehicles that still focus on internal combustion engines, but it may be nearing its end of the line as the world transitions to electric power. One of its most known releases is the 2022 M-series vehicle that brings a sports vehicle that can go from zero to 60 mph in three seconds with the M5 sedan

The German carmaker is known for massive features included in its vehicle lineup that focus on ease of use and luxury. It consists of the new car theatre screen that provides a massive display for the drivers and passengers, making the vehicle a unique place for people to lounge and enjoy its entertainment capabilities with the Amazon Fire OS.

The company is best known for its luxury and sports offers that got a massive boost in technology over the years, making it one of the finest car brands in the world. However, its issue now is giving a bad reputation to the brand, especially as customers and clients expect an almost perfect vehicle but face safety hazards with its ventilation.
