Microsoft Reminds Internet Explorer Retirement

According to a recent story by Bleeping Computer, Microsoft reminded its users that the retirement of its Internet Explorer 11 browser is nearing, which will be on June 15, 2020.

The demise of IE 11 will then be redirecting its users to Microsoft Edge as its desktop application will completely be disabled, along with its lack of support.

The tech giant announced the retirement of Internet Explorer way back on May 19, 2021, giving its users ample time to transition to another web browser out there before its retirement this year.

On top of that, Microsoft 365, along with other apps on Windows have already ended its support for Internet Explorer 11 last Aug. 17, 2021.

Microsoft said in its recent announcement to its users that "the future of Internet Explorer on Windows is in Microsoft Edge."

The tech behemoth also reminded its users that Internet Explorer would no longer be accessible via its desktop application after its retirement on June 15. Instead, the app will automatically open Microsoft Edge if a user is trying to access it.

How to Enable Internet Explorer Mode

The IE mode is accessible directly from the Microsoft Edge browser, Bleeping Computer said in the same report.

To enable IE, open Microsoft Edge, and type this URL: "edge://settings/defaultbrowser" on its address bar.

After which, toggle "Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer. Then, to apply the changes, restart the Edge browser.
