According to a report by Wired, Russian hackers have enforced a botnet that aims to target ASUS routers and their operations in the country. The FBI first saw this attack months ago, and the Bureau have watched this closely to avoid any breaches of the network. Then came March, and the FBI launched its countermeasures against the botnet.

The Russian botnet is a new virus that the agency saw, and it is called the "Cyclops Blink," which focused on the many bots that aim to disrupt a system and its operations. FBI: Crisis Averted for Russia's Botnet Attack, Sandworm

Gizmodo said that the ASUS devices were in danger from this attack, coming from the highly prolific Russian gang called "Sandworm." The FBI battled against these botnets from releasing their herd that will affect its systems and takes down their services for those that use the routers.

Moreover, it may also affect those that use the device for their internet needs. The FBI disabled the malicious systems before it even launched its herd to affect the systems.

Breaches and Attacks from Russia

Russia has been a notorious breeding ground for cyberattacks and hacks that have been attacking international communities and infrastructures that they target for this focus. The National Cyber Security Centre of the United Kingdom warned against Russia and using its products for the needs of the public as it could have access to one's data and information.

One of the most massive attacks from Russia is on the United States' Nuclear power plants that the country said suffered from cyberattacks from the transcontinental nation. There have been many attacks that the European country did on many nations and corporations, breaching their defenses or embedding their malware from the inside.

The world is on edge right now, and one of the reasons for this is due to Russia's actions against the international community and its conflict with Ukraine. However, that does not mean that its threat actors are also backing away from the fight, launching their hacks on different corporations and focus, as long as it connects to the internet.
