Following the release of the Google Pixel 6 series last year, the company took note of its specs. Over the past years, the flagship smartphone of the tech titan is not that impressive compared to other brands.

Recently, a rumor mill revealed that the upcoming Pixel 7 Pro will sport the camera specs which are similar to its predecessor. Here's what the leaker says about this report.

Google Pixel 7 Pro will retain the same specs that we previously see on the Pixel 6 Pro, a recent leak suggests.

According to BGR's story, Google has been keen on its smartphone release lately, especially for its Pixel 6 series lineup. The search engine titan has carried out a big transformation and innovation on its recently-released handheld devices.

In doing so, the company ditched the previous strategy that is used for the Pixel 5. The success was also attributed to Tensor, the firm's first custom chip which was first tested on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

The people have quickly adapted to the new design of the Android flagships. In addition, the most noticeable change that was placed in the device is the horizontal camera bump at the back of the phone.

Other than that, the Pixel 6 Pro also sports the third camera lens, making it the first Google handheld to have this feature. This hints that the successor could likely stick to the original specs or improve it a little for a change.

Pixel 7 Pro Camera Will be Retained

This year, Google appears to be planning on retaining the camera specs for the leaked Pixel 7 Pro. As Android Police spotted via leaker Yogesh Bar, the company would "most likely" put the same optical features on the upcoming flagship. That's the same camera that we have seen on Pixel 6 Pro.

The reliable tipster claimed that the Google flagship will carry 12.5 MPf/2.2 ultra-wide sensors and the 50MP f/1.85 GN1 primary lens. It turns out that the firm will add additional improvements to it to fully take advantage of the Tensor chip.

At this point, the rumored Pixel 7 Pro has no final release date yet. However, we could assume that the upcoming lineup will be launched in October 2022.

Early Google Pixel 7 Pro Design Renders

Back in February, Tech Times reported that a new leak about the Pixel 7 Pro highlighted its alleged "identical" design to the Pixel 6 Pro.

Going into its leaked appearance, you could actually notice the uncanny similarities between the two smartphones when it comes to their renders. The report also included that the signature camera bar module on the predecessor is expected to be featured in the next flagship.

In addition, the leaked model appeared to have removed plastic windows on the mmWave antenna. This resemblance was present as well on the Pixel 6 series.
