The new Edge Secure Network can also prevent online tracking, allowing you to have more anonymity as you surf the internet. Based on the details spotted on Microsoft's support website, the new VPN feature is similar to the advanced Cloudlflre 1.1.1.1 service.

If this is true, then your ISP (internet service provider) will also be blocked from tracking your online activities. When it comes to requirements, users need to have a Microsoft account before accessing the upcoming built-in VPN.

As of writing, the software giant hasn't confirmed the official release date of the new Edge Secure Network feature. Microsoft's browser is not the first to have an in-house VPN service.

Mozilla also launched its own back in 2020. However, this VPN feature is a paid service. Meanwhile, Opera allows its users to have a VPN feature for free.

Benefits of VPN

VPN is one of the technologies that people rely on to protect their user details or keep their online activities private. Aside from anonymity, AVG reported that VPNs also offer other benefits that users can take advantage of, such as the following:

  • Prevent internet service providers from tracking you
  • Secured public internet connections
  • Censorship avoidance
  • Access to blocked websites or content
  • Secure online banking

Recently, the Microsoft Translator enhanced the z-code feature.

On the other hand, Microsoft Teams is expected to combine Outlook and Together Mode.
