There is a "doorway" on Mars, and it is not a hoax or a conspiracy set by NASA.

Last week, as the Curiosity rover set its path on the area dubbed "Mount Sharp," NASA and the team snapped an image of a seemingly rectangular entrance to an unknown place. It resembled a doorway that led to a cave, and it looked to be a regular one that a person could walk through or pass to get to a particular place under the massive rock formation.

photo shared by NASA's official Mars Exploration Program that came from the Curiosity Rover gave a lot to the world, and it is because it showed a doorway on the Red Planet. It may be perceived as a work of ancient life forms or even settlers in recent times, seeking shelter in the massive planet, or simply a result of the changing times on the planet.

The Curiosity rover took the photo using its "Mastcam" on Sol 3466, and it showed a rectangular doorway that lies on the side of the mountain that is tall and wide enough for a person to walk through.

There are no explanations as to where it leads, as there are no more next images regarding this, and it is unknown if NASA will further explore the doorway and what lies inside.

The image is almost four years old, and it was found while the rover climbed Mount Sharp in Sol 3466, and it is currently at Sol 3472 now, and past the area.

It is a Legit Photograph, Not an Edit

The Curiosity rover did not further explore the cave, and Gizmodo confirmed that it is a legit photograph that the spacecraft shot. It is not edited, and it appears on its website as a shot. The report also confirmed that it is simply a pathway between two massive rocks, and it does not necessarily lead to anything or keep any secret inside.

NASA Curiosity Findings

The NASA Curiosity rover came to the Red Planet almost ten years ago, and it has stayed on the neighbor space rock since its arrival and still carries out its mission. Last year, it celebrated its nine years on the planet, and it is one significant space rock for its many findings and discoveries that provided a great deal of information for the public.

The Curiosity first landed in the Gale crater. The rover went on its solo mission to explore the area and provide information on its proximity for the scientists to know more about the planet. The rover provided the first Mars panorama for the humans to see, and it is one exhilarating image as it gives a lot to the public.

In the name itself, Curiosity is eager to find things and discover for the humans regarding the Red Planet as it is and give the world a slice of Mars. A doorway on Mars may lead to a long-abandoned cave or a secret lake inside, buried with treasure, but do not get your hopes up, as there are no confirmed indications that life forms like humans ever habited the Red Planet.
