SAN FRANCISCO, CA - OCTOBER 04: Members of the media examine Google's Pixel phone during an event to introduce Google hardware products on October 4, 2016 in San Francisco, California.

Google Pixel's At A Glance

As per a news story by GSM Arena, Google recently released its massive June Feature Drop for its flagship smartphone lineup. It coincidentally began rolling out while another phone maker, Apple, was talking about the upcoming features of iPhones, thanks to its new iOS 16.

The latest update of Google Pixel phones brings some significant functionalities, which its users might find pretty much handy.

The June drop makes accessing proof of vaccination a bit easier, at least for the region that the feature supports.

On top of the easy access to vaccination, the Pixel phone also received an expanded Live Translate function. Google extended the list of languages that the service supports.

Aside from these enhancements, the renowned tech giant also gave its Pixel devices a bunch of bug fixes, which its smartphone lineup critically needs. It also came with some security refinements.

But one of the most notable in the June Feature Drop is none other than the arrival of the new At a Glance widget on the Lock Screen of Pixel mobile devices.

According to a recent report by Android Police, the redesigned At a Glance widget provides a couple of handy information, which it conveniently displays straight on the lock and screen.

It includes general details like the status of the battery, what's on the calendar app, and the latest updates on Google weather.

The new Google Pixel 2 XL smartphone is seen at a product launch event, October 4, 2017, at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco, California.

While the flashlight could be easily accessible on Android with a few taps, the new shortcut gives users more convenience, thanks to its reminder and control functions.

In fact, as per the latest story by 9to5Google, the new shortcut is way faster to toggle than going all the way to the Quick Settings of Android.

It helps that the new feature on the widget comes by default. So users would no longer have to enable it manually.

The new shortcut also reminds its users when their flashlight has been left turned out. What's more, it allows them to also turn it off with a single tap.
