Apple Watch is set to celebrate the upcoming International Day of Yoga by launching a new activity challenge.

This announcement came after Apple Watch rolled out its own challenges for Earth Day and International Dance Day.

Apple Watch Challenge

According to MacRumors, Apple Watch users can participate in the new challenge for International Day of Yoga on June 21 by doing 20 minutes of yoga.

Once they've completed the challenge, the users can earn a set of animated yoga stickers and a new yoga badge.

There are several yoga workouts that you can select from the Workout app on the Apple Watch, or you can use an app that adds yoga workouts to the Health app.

To get ready for the challenge, you can get the Apple Fitness+ service for only $9.99 per month, as it offers built-in yoga workouts that you can do.

Promoting Fitness

9to5Mac reported that Apple began its Apple Watch Activity Challenges in 2019 to promote the use of its watch and to help users with their fitness journey. It also serves as a guide for Apple users to take advantage of the workout tracking features of its devices and apps.

Once you've done the challenge via the workout app that logs the data to the Fitness app, you will unlock the achievement on your Apple Watch, iPhone, and Messages app.

You will also have access to stickers to add to your collection and use in FaceTime and Messages app.

Apple Watch users will get a notification about the new challenge for the International Day of Yoga.

Apple Watch Fitness Upgrade

The new challenge announcement came after Apple revealed that it would launch tons of new fitness features to the Apple Watch.

The watchOS 9 will be released in mid-2022, including a custom workout builder, new running metrics, triathlete support, and sleep phase detection.

According to Connect the Watts, the new updates will be coming to all Apple Watch devices, from Series 4 until the newer releases.

The Fitness app will also be available for all iPhone users with iOS 16, and they can access the app even without an Apple Watch.

For runners who use the Apple Watch to track their time, new metrics exist. The tech giant will be adding an accelerometer, gyroscope, and machine learning.

There will also be a new list of data like vertical oscillation, stride length, and ground contact time. Users will be able to see the metrics while they are running for real-time tracking.

Apple Watch will also launch Heart Rate Zones, consisting of five zones. These zones can be manually created or automatically calculated via personalized health data.

Users will also be able to customize their workouts, and it will include work and rest intervals for a more accurate and fun exercise time.

Apple Watch users can organize them and name them, so they can select which workout routines they think to suit them best.

Users who participate in triathlons will be able to use the Multi-Sport feature that will detect running, swimming, and biking.
