It's the second day of ApeFest 2022, among the NFT world's biggest events held this year at New York City's Pier 17 by South Street Seaport, wherein both digital artists like Olive Allen and TV hosts such as Jimmy Fallon make fated appearances. The major NFT event, which is sponsored by Web3 platform Polygon and powered by the likes of BAYC and TokenProof, ApeFest proves to incite creativity and purpose through the guise of solid tunes, street art, and decentralized financing options.

The full ApeFest 2022 lineup is left in total secrecy, with featured artists for both today, June 22, and tomorrow, June 23, hidden behind a black wall of spray paint on the official ApeFest website. Last night's show not only had both Lil Baby and Haim but also Timbaland as a special guest, who dropped a Congo & Pinky BAYC music video during the show. The first day of ApeFest NYC brought out Questlove and LCD Soundsystem, which seemingly got all the love for their performance on Monday evening.

It's unclear exactly who may be showing up for the remainder of the event. ApeFest is intended to close its doors come Thursday, June 23. As the event unfolds, Bored Ape Yacht Club is holding a live OpenSea auction of the so-called Mutant Motorcycle Curtis NFT, designed with Rolling Stone's help. The live auction will be held for the next three days, according to Bored Ape Yacht Club, and the winner will receive the digital asset itself alongside a signed physical version.

Although among the biggest physical parties in the NFT and Web3 realm, Bored Ape's ApeFest 2022 isn't the only digital asset event ongoing right now. For one, the aptly named NFT.NYC 2022 event, which bills itself as "the leading annual Non-Fungible Token event," is holding its fourth annual edition until Thursday, June 23. NFT.NYC 2022 is being held in a variety of different venues across Times Square, specifically The Edison, Radio City Music Hall, Palladium Times Square, New York Marriott Marquis, and plenty more.

In addition to both ApeFest and NFT.NYC, decentralized Web3 video game The Sandbox was also holding its own internal by invitation-only event this week titled Sandbox Con. The event took place between Monday and Tuesday, featuring a live show performed by the likes of Steve Aoki at Gotham Hall. Several of the most prominent Web3 entrepreneurs and tech enthusiasts were in attendance.

Although steeped in the hype, ApeFest is also embroiled in its own rather interesting controversy, with some Twitter discourse seemingly pointing out ApeFest allegations of racism. On top of the swirling social media dialogue, the ApeCoin itself remains in a spiraling redline. As of writing, ApeCoin currently sits at $4.35, a 323% bump from the previous year and down by 7.16% for the day, despite the mass ApeFest acclaim.

According to AMBCrypto, a whopping 98.22% of ApeCoin investors have witnessed losses. While the NFT realm is experiencing its own lull, and many in the crypto sphere too are steeped in fear given both TerraUSD and Celsius downfalls, BAYC seems to be maintaining acreage growth as a total of 718 NFTs were sold in the last month, allowing ApeCoin some much-needed increases in value.

ApeFest continues its NFT event tonight, starting at 5 PM at Pier 17. Tickets are available only via TokenProof and require a registered wallet holding either BAYC or MAYC NFT within to have access. For its next two days, ApeFest 2022 is sure to excite the masses as many in the industry fear the next inevitable downfall of digital asset collection.
