Microsoft is developing a PowerPoint update that would allow users to add a new degree of customization to their video presentations, perfect for online or hybrid setups.

New Microsoft PowerPoint Update

Reports from Techradar shows that according to Microsoft, the headlining feature they will soon roll out is codenamed Cameo. This new feature will sit within PowerPoint's Recording Studio. What it does is to allow you to make use of a web camera feed and instantly make video recording of your presentation in an "even more personal and create an immersive narrative experience."

The latest version appears to pander to presentation perfectionists by letting them "customize camera feed's look before hitting the record button" as well as "add your preferred camera styles, shapes, and sizes to Cameo. Plus, you can also pick the best spot on the slide for your camera feed that best complements your presentation."

Aside from camera feed upgrades, Microsoft is also testing new features inside PowerPoint to adjust line spacing and edit presentation backdrops with pictures.

Although not fully released yet, this new capability is now available to Office Insiders who are using Beta Channel Version 2207 (Build 15425.20000) or later.

Other Recent Updates for Microsoft Powerpoint

Now, there's no need to sweat if you're not a Microsoft Insider. All of the aforementioned upgrades will be made available to the general public in the future, though Microsoft has not said when. In the meanwhile, you can enjoy their recently introduced features.

Neither of these is the only new capabilities that the digital behemoth has been incorporating into the traditional piece of office software in the face of competition from competitor programs like Prezi and Google Slides. PowerPoint users, as of the moment, now have the flexibility to add their own unique fonts to presentations, and new connections with Microsoft Teams have made virtual presentations much less of a burden.
