At the Google I/O 2022 in May, Google has surprised the tech world by revealing its latest flagship phones a couple of weeks before its official launch.

This time, the tech giant gave the fans a sneak peek at the phone's design and hinted at a possible release date.

Google Unveils Google Pixel 7 Phones

According to TechRadar, several Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro units have already leaked online, and Google wanted to get ahead of the story instead of letting the design leak, as it did with the Google Pixel Watch, and this has made the company do an early revelation of the phones.

The tech giant is also planning to unveil the Pixel Tablet together with the phones in the next few weeks.

Google also wanted to hype up the Pixel 7 design because Pixel 7 leaks point to the phone being very similar to the Google Pixel 6 in specs and cameras.

Although there have been talks of new software features like Cloudripper, which is Google's Tensor SoC successor, there isn't much going on for the phone except the cool new look.

The Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel Watch will all ship together either September or October, but they don't have an exact release date as of yet.

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 5 were both shipped on October 28 and October 29, 2021. It is not a stretch to assume that the new Pixel 7 would arrive around the same date.

Ross Young, the CEO OF DSCC has stated that Google will begin Pixel 7 production a month earlier than in previous years. In theory, that could signal a late September or early October launch, which would still qualify as a "fall" launch.

However, Google has not confirmed it. The tech giant could just be lengthening its production timeline to give itself more flexibility before the release of the phones.

Given that Google has failed to release Android 12 to AOSP until early October, and the company must have Android 13 ready before it can launch the Pixel 7, a September launch date would cause pressure on the Android team.

Google Pixel 7 Pricing

As for pricing, most rumors that fans have seen so far suggest that the Google Pixel 7 and Google 7 Pro will have similar cameras and displays as the 2021 model.

The newer Google phone models may have the same pricing as before, with Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro being $599 and $899, respectively, with a $100 upcharge.

However, Google has not given an official number yet, so fans can only speculate.

According to Tom's Guide, there is a possibility of a third Google Pixel 7 prototype called the G10, alongside the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

The third model reportedly has the same display quality and size as the Google Pixel 7, but other hypothetical upgrades like improved cameras, is still up in the air.

If Google does end up having a third model, it would be released around the same time as the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro phones and would cost around $1,000.
