Instagram is creating a way for the public to use its Reels more often, even for photos that are already uploaded to the platform, and it may be one's post or publicly-available content. However, that is not all that Meta and Instagram revealed today, as all of the videos shorter than 15 minutes will also see their upload on the Reels tab of the app.

Meta's Facebook blog post released a new development on its Instagram Reels features, focusing on several changes to the experience that will help the public integrate more with it. One of the most prominent features is the "Remix this Photo" feature that will turn a regular Instagram square static post into a video Reel.

According to The Verge, multiple templates are available in this feature, aiming to give the public more creative ways to post their images on the platform. Users may also use photos from other creators as long as these are public posts from their respective owners.

In the Share function of the image, users may see the "Remix this photo" option that would bring the image to the Reels creation or editing tab for access.

However, that is not all to Instagram's blog post, as it is also reinforcing its Reels for everyone to enjoy, including the video posts on the platform to upload to the Reels tab automatically. This new destination for videos will only happen if the upload is less than 15 minutes, and anything longer will upload as a regular video on the feed.

Instagram Reels and its Vertical Video Platform

Instagram Reels is one of the latest additions to the platform, and it aims to give the world a new format in their posts on the famous social media app, focusing on a vertical media that is the trend now. Previously, Meta even went as far as to offer monetary payments to content creators for using Reels, editing, and its platform features to compete with TikTok.

Despite being one of the platforms that took inspiration from the trendy vertical posts, Instagram and Meta want the public to use its Reels for what it is, a platform on the social media app. Instagram previously discouraged the public from avoiding posting vertical videos from other platforms like TikTok on the Reels experience and focusing on originality.

Now, new features are coming to Instagram Reels, and it wants the public to experience the platform with more functions, including using Instagram photo posts on their vertical video creation. It aims to improve the photos from its actual static posts, and its videos to appear on Reels, provided that these are less than 15 minutes.
