According to Kuo, the upcoming Apple Watch Series 8 will have hardware that is focused on health monitoring features.

Previously, prominent tech leaker Ming-Chi Kuo said that the upcoming Apple smartwatch would have a body temperature sensor that will notify the user if he/she has a fever.

The rumors surrounding the new wearable pointed out the release of the Apple Watch Series 8 which was speculated to be available in late 2022.

As per the past report from Tech Times, the body temperature monitoring won't yield a particular reading compared to the standard thermometers. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg said that it's still important to consult a health expert regarding the changes in your temperature.

Some sources suggested that two new health features will come to the smartwatch. Macrumors wrote that the Apple Watch Series 8 will have the hardware to bring these updates into reality.

So far, we know that the temperature sensor will also aid the users regarding fertility planning. This would give more women useful information regarding their ovulation cycle.

Over the past years, the Cupertino giant has been giving importance to women's health. Introducing another health feature that will benefit them is a sign that the iPhone maker is listening to its customers.

Apart from these, the body temperature sensor will reportedly track your sleep patterns. Once you're in a deep sleep, the Apple Watch Series 8 can measure your blood oxygen level. This will tell if you are healthy in absorbing and using the oxygen in your body while you are breathing.

Why Apple Canceled Body Temperature Feature on Watch Series 7

Initially, the tech firm has already finalized its plans to bring the body temperature sensor to Apple Watch Series 7. However, Apple did not meet the requirements for its algorithm prior to the EVT (engineering validation testing) phase in 2021. That's why it decided to ditch the said feature.

Kuo says that the hardware alone could not effectively monitor the user's body temperature through the smartwatch. Still, it all boils down to the role of the algorithm in generating correct measurement outcomes.

There's nothing to expect anymore with Apple Watch Series 8 aside from the body temperature sensor since the blood-pressure monitoring feature won't be released anytime this year.

According to Gurman, this health feature might come in 2025. Meanwhile, blood-glucose monitoring won't be launched either until "nearer to the end of the decade."

In the meantime, the users should take this information with a grain of salt since there's no official word that Apple said about these features.

If all falls according to plan, the company might unveil the Apple Watch Series 8 on Sept. 13. The product shipments could start on Sept. 13 based on the pattern over the past three years, per Laptop Mag.
