Jetson One flying car is fully operational, and yes, you could fly it even without getting a pilot or driver's license. This next-gen invention can run for up to 63 miles per hour in the air using its battery pack made by Tesla.

Nowadays, if you want to drive any vehicle on the road, you first need to get a license from the authorities. However, this flying car is an exemption from this policy.

No license to fly? No problem. This Jetson One flying car won't require you to get one.

As IFLScience reported, Jetson's flying car can be considered an "ultralight aircraft" since it only weighs 86 kilograms. Like a usual plane, it can take off and vertically hit the ground.

To note, you don't need to undergo an intense procedure just to obtain a license to fly this car. You can completely drive it up without getting one.

This one-person vehicle can glide around an urban area, but it shouldn't be operated near or at airports. Unexpected accidents may happen, and they might interfere with a plane during takeoff.

As of writing, Jetson announced that you could make an initial deposit of $22,000 for the flying car. The company will deliver it to your doorstep. Additionally, you need to pay $70,000 for the final payment.

Knowing that flying cars are only getting started, this pricing is pretty decent for the customers. However, it might take some time for you to receive Jetson One since the 2022 production for this vehicle is sold out at the moment.

Volkswagen Unveils Drone Prototype

Aside from Jetson, another company has recently made a stride in the field of car making. According to LifeStyle Asia, Volkswagen, a known luxury car brand, is also exploring the possibility of launching a flying car in the future.

The automaker has unveiled a special prototype of a flying EV which it describes as a "state-of-the-art passenger" prototype. This is the company's first attempt to reveal an aircraft model in transit.

Volkswagen called the prototype "Flying Tiger." Its black and white body is accentuated with a gold touch that resembles the tiger stripes. It's also released during the Year of the Tiger, so it's reasonable to name it after the wild animal.

Just like Jetson One, it's an eVTOL prototype, meaning it can take off and land vertically. The company headquarters in China was assigned to design this aircraft. It started two years ago.

Volkswagen says that the configuration of the flying car when it comes to its x-wing is 11.2-meter long. Its width measures 10.6 meters. To give a better balance during horizontal flight, the company adds two propellers and eight rotors for the vertical lift.

The prototype will continue to undergo several tests this year until 2023. More test flights will take place to ensure their safety and suitability for the drivers and pilots.
