The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 vs. Galaxy Z Flip 3 comparison pits the company's two most recent compact foldable phones against each other. But which one is better?

The newly-released Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a lot in common with the Galaxy Z Flip 3, but it also has many internal upgrades that improve the original design. Because of this, it can be challenging to identify just one essential feature that would motivate a current Z Flip 3 user to upgrade.

The key features of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be compared below to find out which phone is most suitable for you!

Battle of Displays

The Z Flip 3 and Z Flip 4 both have a 6.7-inch FHD AMOLED inner display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a 1.9-inch AMOLED outside display for notifications. However, there are some minor variations.

The Z Flip 4 has thinner bezels around the inner display than the Z Flip 3, giving it a more contemporary appearance. Given how delicate foldable screens can be, the fact that the Z Flip 4's display is now more durable is very promising.

The Z Flip 4 expands the capabilities of the cover display so that you may use them to send messages or manage smart home appliances without having to unlock the phone.

Battle of Designs

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is a minor upgrade of the Galaxy Z Flip 3, a much-improved version of the first Galaxy Z Flip, according to Tom's World.

The Z Flip 4's cameras protrude more from the phone's body and have a flatter frame for a more contemporary appearance. The Z Flip 4 replaces the Gorilla Glass Victus panels from the Z Flip 3 with Gorilla Glass Victus Plus, which should increase its durability and make it more resistant to cracking and scratches.

It is also worth noting that both phones have Armor Aluminum frames and are water resistant to IPX8 standards.

Battle of Performances

Samsung has upgraded the Galaxy Z Flip 4's Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip from the Galaxy Z Flip 3's already powerful Snapdragon 888 chipset.

With both phones, you only get an average of 8GB of RAM, but it's almost a given that the Z Flip 4 will be quicker and more responsive while using several processor-heavy apps, as noted by Tom's World.

The greater storage ceiling of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is an additional performance advantage. Both the Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 come in base 128GB and 256GB models, but the Z Flip 4 now has a 512GB capacity option.

Battle of Cameras

The cameras on the Z Flip 4 are identical to those on the Z Flip 3. In addition to a 10MP selfie camera on the inside, both phones boast 12MP main and 12MP ultrawide cameras on the outside.

However, the Z Flip 4 should still improve your photography experience because of improvements made beneath the surface. For better low-light photography, Samsung has given it its Super Night Solution software, updated its lighting and stabilizing AI, and included the Quick Shot function.

Battle of Charging Performances

The Galaxy Z Flip 4's battery is still smaller than that of the Galaxy Z Flip 3's. The former's two-part battery has a 3,700 mAh total capacity compared to the Z Flip 3's 3,400 mAh.

The Z Flip 4's charging is likewise an improvement over the Z Flip 3's. The Z Flip 3 has a maximum charging power of 15W, while the Z Flip 4 increases that to 25W, matching the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the majority of other Samsung phones.
