Prime video Paused Reviews for the New LOTR Series

An article by The Verge described how Prime Video decided to pause reviews for the new LOTR series by delaying them for three days. This means that when a review is posted, it could take three days before they are ever posted.

Variety and Deadline, as per The Verge, said that the delay is designed to "help stave off review bombing," which they described as "the act of flooding a particular show, movie, game, or book with negative remarks."

Company Wants to Evaluate Whether Posts Come from Bots or Trolls

As per Variety, they were told by an Amazon representative that the delay on reviews was put into place in order for the company to have time to evaluate whether or not the posts come from a bot or troll.

With this action, Amazon is looking to see whether the negative reviews were artificially generated, although there is still no news regarding whether the company is acknowledging that there could be a group of people unhappy with the direction of the show.

Amazon First Paused Reviews for 'A Leage of Their Own' Reboot

The article by The Verge noted that "Unfortunately," "The Rings of Power" was allegedly experiencing a similarly negative review influx.
