Tesla aims to install solar roofs and Powerwall in a Texan community following its goal to build the first solar neighborhood in the world.

This game-changing project will target brand-new houses that are seeking development when it comes to energy-reduction measures.

Tesla aims to install solar roofs and power walls in 12,000 homes in Easton Park.

Before Tesla started the deployment of its solar roof and battery system to a community in Austin, it penned a deal stating a "large scale" installment of these technologies.

According to a report by Electrek, the automaker has collaborated with Dacra and Brookfield Asset Management to make this project possible.

The company says they are currently reaching out to households in Easton Park that need Tesla Solar Roofs and Powerwall packages for their needs.

Back in October, Tesla shared its plans to accelerate the installation of solar roofs for US-based users. At the time, the company said customers could submit their application for the service regardless of location.

The dream of establishing an urban community full of solar roofs is finally settling in. This time, Tesla is now ready to penetrate a bigger market for its business.

Tesla Solar Packages in Easton Park Homes

Two months ago, the company faced difficulties with its solar roof projects because it could not meet its schedule. However, this does not discourage Tesla from stopping the current roll-out of installations for the houses.

When you visit Brookfield Asset Management, you will notice that some houses in Easton Park come with a "Tesla Solar Package."

Electrek asked one resident named Mario from Easton Park regarding this service.

"I did a cost-benefit analysis: I went to the Tesla site and put in the same characteristics of the house we're buying and what it would cost to add a Tesla Roof. There's a big cost saving for at getting it at install," Mario said.

He added that by availing of this service, he could generate a long-term passive income thanks to the "energy-saving habits" he has been using.

The Tesla solar roof houses are already coming to Texas yet. It's still not the end game for the company. Actually, the carmaker is currently building a virtual power plant in the state.

In other news, Teslarati reported that the Tesla Megapacks now support 31-megawatt-hour expansion in Watertown, New York.

The Controversy About Tesla Solar Roofs

Tech Times reported last year that the company increased the price of the Tesla solar roof. Apparently, many users found it unsatisfying, especially those who have signed contracts for the service.

For more than a year, some customers complained that they haven't yet received the Solar roof. Because of this, a group of Tesla roof owners had planned to file a lawsuit against the company if the legally binding contract is bypassed.
