Microsoft disclosed on Oct. 12, Wednesday, that Apple Music, Apple TV, and iCloud are coming to Windows OS, as reported by 9to5Mac.

Apple TV and Apple Music on Windows

The desktop versions of the Apple TV and Apple Music apps will be available for download through the Microsoft Store for Windows-based personal computers in 2023. Early beta previews of these apps will launch soon.

Before this, dedicated Apple TV and Apple Music software were unavailable on Windows computers.

Apple recommended that PC users visit tv.apple.com in a web browser in order to access TV+ content. This is despite the said website being a fairly poor online application. Customers of Apple Music can go to music.apple.com, or they can suffer through the ordeal of iTunes for Windows.

Both of these options were inferior to the others. Windows users should have a far more pleasurable experience when using native Apple Music and TV apps to enjoy the content on their laptops and desktops.

iCloud on Windows

Apple is also expanding into the realm of personal media, in line with the news that Windows 11 Photos app will be integrating iCloud later this year. This will enable Windows users to explore their iCloud Photo Library without any hiccups when using the default Windows Photos program.

Previously, Windows users could download a copy of their iCloud Photos by utilizing the iCloud for Windows app. This makes it appear as though the file explorer has a library.

Now, the integration into the Photos app will deliver a significantly more satisfying experience that is comparable to the one that Apple users have when using iCloud Photos on their Macs.

According to MacRumors, Microsoft customers only need to download the iCloud for Windows software from the Microsoft Store and activate iCloud Photos syncing.

A beta version of this integration is currently available for those who are participants in the Windows Insider program. The full release will be made available to the public in November.

Apple's Continuous Expansion

These developments are part of Apple's ongoing effort to provide its entertainment offerings to an increasing number of platforms. Apple places a higher priority on generating revenue from subscriptions than it does from the sale of hardware.

When it comes to Apple TV, having a larger platform availability is essential as the company continues to negotiate expansive deals in the world of sports.

One example of such a contract is Apple's agreement to stream Major League Soccer matches exclusively beginning with the 2023 season. It is also anticipated that Apple TV will get the rights to stream NFL Sunday Ticket.

In other news, the Apple Music app has recently launched on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One, allowing members to play music from the service while they game.
