A smart ring patent leak claims that Samsung is now working on its smart ring. The rumored wearable is expected to compete with Oura, which excels in health-focused rings for users.

Sam Mobile first reported last year that the South Korean tech giant wanted to develop its own smart ring that can monitor a person's health. At that time, the report suggested that Samsung was looking for potential partners who could develop the parts of the leaked wearable.

It appears that this rumor will soon be brought to life, according to Naver, a South Korea-based electronic newspaper. The source says that Samsung has contacted multiple companies to secure the technology for the smart ring.

The Samsung smart ring reportedly comes with features that can measure the user's sleep pattern, heart rate, electrocardiogram, and other health-related metrics.

Its real-time monitoring system is unmatched, but if there's one thing that can compete with it, it would be the third-gen Oura Ring.

The smart ring patent was seen in the US Patent and Trademark Office in 2021. Aside from having health-centered capabilities, this wearable can also allow the user to control a smartphone, laptop, TV, and other electronic devices.

Other than that, we haven't heard yet about its release date. So far, Android Central reports that it's in the early stage of development at the time.

Samsung is looking forward to commercializing the smart ring for the years to come. The company aims to strengthen its healthcare function for its available gadgets so users can evaluate their health using their mobile devices.
