Currently, a series of bugs have been impacting the Steam version of "Resident Evil Village." As Game News 24 reports, the gamers first reported the bugs on Oct. 10.

The most common complaint from some players is the game-breaking bug that puts them in a restart loop. They could not figure out what was wrong with the gameplay because they had no idea if it was a compatibility issue, an internet or a boot-up problem.

Moreover, the bug reportedly does not accept the version compatibility of "Resident Evil Village" on Steam. It's indeed very frustrating for every RE fan, especially since it coincides with the near arrival of the Winter's Expansion DLC.

What Could Be the Reason Behind the 'Resident Evil' Bug?

Destructoid notes that some tinkerers have explanations for why the bug continues to pop up in the "Resident Evil Village" Steam version. Some say it's a code-related bug that is specifically coming from the main body of the code.

Other players think that the bug could be the aftermath of downloading the pirated version of the game everywhere. Right now, you can actually download a fake copy of "Resident Evil Village" on some websites, but it's still a risk to gamble since the ZIP files can contain malware that might steal some of your information on your PC.

At this point, Capcom has not yet officially announced the real reason why these bugs keep on appearing. Players only know that the Japanese video game giant is cracking down on pirated content just like what Nintendo does on its popular titles.

'Resident Evil Village' Updates

Outside the report about the bugs, Capcom confirms that a "Resident Evil Showcase" is coming this Thursday, Oct. 20. RE fans should expect new updates about the upcoming Winters' Expansion, which is scheduled to launch on Oct. 28.

Aside from that, Capcom will soon release details of the most awaited "Resident Evil 4" remake and the "Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition."

So far, the survival horror franchise has sold more than 6 million copies around the world since its launch in 2021.

What to Expect About the 'Winters' Expansion?'

Speaking of the "Winters' Expansion" DLC, Tsuyoshi Kanda, the producer of Capcom, told the fans that there would be a third-person mode for this content.

It's a wild ride for avid fans who want to see Ethan from a different point of view. Indeed, another twist will be added to the game's story soon.

Furthermore, you can soon play Lady Dimitrescu, the iconic antagonist in the game who stands at nine feet.

There's also a new story entitled "The Shadows of Rose." It will cover Rose's background on how she survived 16 years after. For those unfamiliar, she's the newborn who is featured in the main plot of the latest horror installment.
