Ryan Reynolds has moved his social media presence to Tumblr after Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter.

Many followers were thrilled to see him join Tumblr. But, according to an article by Evening Standard, others are wary of the site becoming another Twitter if celebrities start posting there.

Reynolds on Tumblr

In his first post, Reynolds uploaded a Deadpool joke. Since then, he has shared other GIFs of himself. One of which features It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor Rob McElhenney, who appears as one of Reynolds' co-owners of the Wrexham Football Club.

Tumblr is once again in the news because of the involvement of Reynolds. As a result of the Hollywood actor's joining the said platform, however, the question of what features are essential for a social networking site has been brought into question.

Notably, Tumblr is another platform that might gain users as a consequence of the Twitter drama, especially after the news it will be lifting its 2018 restriction on pornographic material last week.

Since the billionaire bought Twitter, several celebrities have announced they will no longer use the service, including Toni Braxton and Shonda Rhimes. This has raised the question of whether Twitter's users will migrate to other popular networks like Instagram and Facebook or to less popular ones like Mastodon.

About Tumblr

Tumblr is a platform for blogging that allows users to upload and repost content such as photographs, videos, GIFs, music, and text. Tumblr users have the ability to design their own accounts, which often adhere to a variety of aesthetic motifs.

Users may follow the blogs of other users and like, comment on, or reblog posts made on other blogs. In contrast to other social media platforms, such as Instagram and Twitter, users do not have the ability to see the number of followers that a blog has; only the blog owner is privy to this information.

In addition to that, there is a message option and a Q&A section where followers may pose queries to the content creators.

Tumblr can also be a social networking service where users may set up personal blogs devoted to a wide variety of topics. This means that the platform is full of subcultures united by specific passions and pastimes. In the early 2010s, the platform style became popular.

Other Celebs on Tumblr

Tumblr, in contrast to Twitter and Instagram, never truly became a hub for A-listers to share their content with their fans.

Blogs tended to include works of art or creative writing rather than self-promotional snapshots of the individual.

But Kylie Jenner, now a reality TV star and social media icon, was a huge Tumblr user when she was a teenager. Jenner had a famous Tumblr blog before she became the most followed woman on Instagram, with over 372 million followers.
