Microsoft Rolls Out Windows 11 iCloud Photos Integration

As per the latest report by 9to5 Mac, Microsoft has previously announced that various Apple services will soon be fully available for Windows PC users.

For instance, the Redmond firm and the Cupertino giant are working hand in hand to bring the full Apple TV and Apple Music experiences to PCs.

But besides these two streaming services, Microsoft also confirmed that iCloud Photos integration is on its way to Windows 11.

According to a news story by Engadget, the integration started rolling out to Windows Insider members back in October. However, during that time, Windows 11 users had to wait for its arrival in November.

But this time, The Verge reports that iCloud Photos integration for Windows 11 users is now available.

NEW YORK, NY - MAY 2: A view of the new Microsoft Surface Laptop following a Microsoft launch event, May 2, 2017 in New York City. The Windows 10 S operating system is geared toward the education market and is Microsoft's answer to Google's Chrome OS.

The new update allows users to view their photos and videos straight from the Apple Photos app on Windows. It is similar to how Mac users conveniently access their media libraries.

9to5 Mac highlights that Windows users need to update their Photos app to experience the new integration. But on top of that, PC folks also need to download the new iCloud for Windows app from the Microsoft Store.

Once that's out of the way, all you have to do is to sign in with your Apple ID in the iCloud app. And from there, all the photos and videos that users uploaded to the cloud service should start syncing.

The principal product manager lead for Windows inbox apps of Microsoft, Dave Grochocki, told The Verge that they understand that their customers have iPhones media that they would want to access on PCs.

And as such, he says that "this iCloud Photos integration will make it easier for those with an iPhone to have direct access to all their cherished memories in one organized place and is another step in our continued efforts to make experiences on Windows 11 seamless."
