Tesla Cybertruck EV Production is Nearing

This time, the Chief Vehicle Designer of Tesla gave us a glimpse of how the development of the Cybertruck is going these days.

As per a recent report by Teslarati, the all-electric pickup faced a couple of delays, no thanks to the supply chain mess and the COVID-19 pandemic that struck the world by surprise.

Given that, Musk pushed its production several times since he first introduced it to the public. He says the recent delays are due to some adjustments in the upcoming electric truck.

The big boss of Tesla notes that the early production for the EV should begin sometime in mid-2023. Teslarati notes in its story that the mass production of the all-electric pickup might finally kick off before the year ends.

And now, the Chief Vehicle Designer, Holzhausen, shed light on the ongoing development of the Cybertruck in his recent interview. He discussed inspiration and the design process behind the Cybertruck. But on top of that, he also disclosed the obstacles in designing the futuristic-looking electric car.

Holzhausen revealed in the Ride the Lightning podcast with Ryan McCaffrey that the design of the electric pickup was "basically" finished as of writing. As such, it looks like the much-awaited EV has already been finalized.

McCaffrey, the Executive Editor of IGN, said in the interview that the production of the long-delayed EV is finally coming in the next six months.

The Chief Designer did not mention anything that would have pushed it back yet again.

Tesla North highlights in its news story that the EV maker is looking to kick off the Cybertruck production in mid-July.

In fact, the Musk-led firm is currently working on the "Giga Press" aluminum die-casting machine, which would be responsible for the manufacturing of the panels and chassis of the electric truck.

Tesla Cybertruck with Yoke Steering?

The hour-long interview reveals that the EV maker is pushing for the Yoke design to be the standard steering wheel of the Tesla Cybertruck.

It is not at all surprising as the early prototypes of the electric pickup showcased the Yoke steering.

However, it is worth noting that the giant carmaker recently made the traditional design the standard option for the Tesla Model S and Model X. And with that, the Cybertruck could likely follow through.
