CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA - SEPTEMBER 07: Apple CEO Tim Cook walks through a crowd during an Apple special event on September 07, 2022 in Cupertino, California. Apple CEO Tim Cook unveiled the new iPhone 14 as well as new versions of the Apple Watch, including the Apple Watch SE, a low-cost version of the popular timepiece that will start at $249.

Apple Pay Later 'Launching Soon," Says Tim Cook

A news story by 9to5 Mac reports that the big boss of Apple, Cook, announced that Apple Pay Later is "launching soon."

The online media outlet notes that the iPhone maker introduced its all-new payments feature amid the WWDC 2022 as part of the iOS 16 update.

Despite that, months have gone by, yet, iPhone users have yet to get their hands on it.

The new payments feature lets them pay in installments rather than in full when using Apple Pay. They could do so using the built-in Wallet app on their mobile devices.

It should have been a handy option for its users when they are looking to buy costly items like tech devices.

When is the Release Date?

But this time, ahead of the upcoming earnings call of Apple with investors, Cook told CNBC that they are gearing up for Apple Pay Later's release.

In fact, the chief exec disclosed in the interview that their employees are already testing the upcoming feature. However, it is still in the beta testing stage.

The Apple Pay logo is displayed in a mobile kiosk sponsored by Visa and Wells Fargo to demonstrate the new Apple Pay mobile payment system on October 20, 2014 in San Francisco City.

But do not sweat it. Cook assures that the much-awaited payments feature is getting the shimmer of the spotlight soon.

It is worth noting that the Apple CEO failed to provide a specific release date for Apple Pay Later. However, 9to5 Mac suggests that the upcoming iOS 16.4 update might roll it out to iPhone users.

How to Use Apple Pay Later

The iPhone maker announced that Apple Pay Later allows users to split their payments into four, which they could spread over six weeks. The best part is that the renowned tech giant claims it comes with zero interest. Not to mention that it skips on any fees.

The installment feature will be available on the built-in Wallet app on iPhones. Given that, users would no longer have to install any app to get their hands on it.

During the WWDC 2022 event, the tech giant says that the Pay Later feature works on every store that supports Apple Pay.
