Since its launch, ChatGPT has become controversial following its impressive capability to respond to people's questions like a real human.

Did you know you can also seek advice from this AI software if your pet is sick? That's the case for a man who said that a veterinarian can't diagnose what's wrong with his dog.

Since the vet could not find out the real health condition of the canine, he consulted GPT-4 if it knew some information about the disease.

In a surprising turn of events, a man claims that ChatGPT's latest version has helped him saved his dog's life.

According to a report by Gizmochina, @peakcooper tweeted that GPT-4 was able to save his dog's life by determining the potential condition behind his pet's sickness.

Sassy, his Border Collie was reportedly suffering from a skin-related disease brought by ticks. At that time, the Twitter user said that his dog was undergoing the similar treatment he used to do.

While Sassy appears to be slowly recovering from her condition, Cooper noticed that the same medication is not working anymore since his dog is already experiencing the worst symptoms.

It all started when Cooper saw the paleness in Sassy's gums. He came back to the vet to seek medical help only to find out that her dog was already suffering from severe anemia.

The veterinarian ran a diagnosis about Sassy's condition, but the blood test turned out to be negative. This made Cooper wonder what's really wrong with her furry pal.

Additionally, the vet advised him to monitor Sassy's heath and check if her condition will get better. However, Cooper has no time to wait anymore so he decided to ask GPT-4 for advice.

How ChatGPT Helped Cooper Identify Sassy's Condition

The only option for Cooper is to seek a second opinion from a different vet. Before doing that, he remembered that he can consult ChatGPT for a diagnosis like this one so he tried asking the AI.

According to First Post, Cooper used all the health data that the vet provided for Sassy. He typed it in the query bar of ChatGPT and began asking a series of questions.

To his surprise, Cooper discovered that GPT-4 gave him the best answers that he could not find from a vet. The AI tool told him that Sassy's condition could further deteriorate because of an unidentified condition.

From here, Cooper threw follow-up questions to the AI and used the results of the tests to filter out the unnecessary factors of the diagnosis.

This time, he went to the second vet to confirm if the findings produced by the chatbot are true. Cooper said that ChatGPT4's suggestion was accurate after the vet ran a diagnosis to Sassy.

After identifying the real cause of his dog's problem, the vet prescribed the right medication to aid Sassy's recovery. Slowly, she began to show signs of life and now, she's almost healthier than before.

In another ChatGPT-related report, Ars Technica previously reported that OpenAI has launched a plugin system for its chatbot. This way, users can now easily order groceries or book flights by simply browsing the internet.
