A report from Taiwanese research firm, TrendForce, is now centering on Apple's early development of micro LEDs, and this will apply to many of the Cupertino giant's technologies. This includes the future iPhone lineups, the Vision Pro's future iterations, and the Apple Car.

On a separate note, MacRumors pointed out to a report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman that this said microLED adoption would also apply to the likes of the iPad and Mac devices coming soon from the Cupertino giant.

This affirms TrendForce's earlier report regarding Apple's microLED development, initially centering on the 2026 release of the Apple Watch Ultra.

However, one of the most eye-catching claims here is microLED coming for the Apple Car, and this may center on the vehicle's infotainment system, but also for the EV's gauges as well.

Moreover, it could also bring display at the back of the headrest or from the top. While that remains unknown, this new information points out the application of microLEDs for the autonomous driving car concept from Apple, which remains unknown to date.

Apple's Display Technology

Apart from chips and software, Apple is also massive on the other parts of its device including the body, and of course the display. One of the most significant rumors behind Apple's display development is with the future 27-inch Macs will feature a mini-LED screen, with the design coming from Apple but the manufacturing dedicated to a third-party company.

On the other hand, another device under the company's development would also see a change, and this is with the future versions of the Apple Watch Ultra. As per the leaks, this upcoming version of the smartwatch for 2026 will feature microLED, but it will take the company less than three years before users can buy this from Apple.

With Apple seeing high regard for the quality of its screen as well as the renowned ProMotion capabilities, the expectations for this jump to microLED are massive. The report is now speculating on the use of microLED for Apple's future displays, all centered on upgrading the current lineup for portable devices, but also for its future alleged electric vehicle.
