Reports are now centering on the next version of Meta's Quest Pro, with the company planning to create a successor to its VR headset, but this time, it would be tapping into LG as its partner to soon deliver the tech. The VR headset's display would not be the only thing that LG will work on Meta's Quest Pro claims the reports, with the device coming soon for all to enjoy.

Maeil Business Newspaper, a Korean media agency, has claimed that Meta and LG recently penned a deal for a joint venture to develop the Quest Pro's next-generation release. First and foremost, the display would see an upgrade from LG, but it would not be the only thing that the Korean tech company would bring to the table, as other parts like LG Innotek will also contribute to the wearable.

This report was spotted by UploadVR, further reporting that this device would be called the "Meta Quest 4 Pro," a name that is not up to its current track of naming the Quest devices.

Numbered Quests (like Quest 1, Quest 2, and Quest 3) have since been separate from the Quest Pro, with Meta making a clear distinction that differed one lineup from the other.

It was also revealed by the Korean report that Meta will also bring a low-end Quest headset by 2024, one that is under $200.

Meta's Quest Pro 2: Release Date and Price

According to the reports, the next-generation Quest Pro would feature a rumored price tag of $2,000, with the device being $500 more expensive than the original device.

Meta and LG's work is also expected to arrive by 2025, less than two years from now, which may suggest that both companies are on the verge of developing it now.

Meta's Quest Developments

Back in March, Meta revealed its updated AR/VR Roadmap for the Quest devices, with the company planning to extend the developments to its wearable tech until 2027. This centers on the new devices that Meta is already working on and those that will come soon for all, centering on its augmented and virtual reality platforms, offering the best of both spectrums.

One of Meta's massive shifts in the Quest's offers was confirmed in its next-generation headset, the Quest 3, one that features both AR and VR experiences. The successor to Meta's current Quest developments will bring WiFi 6E and 5G Connectivity support to the device, with it capable of connecting to online services on its own, and not requiring other devices for the experience.

As Meta is catching up to Apple on its Vision Pro's mixed-reality headset via the Quest 3, its other ventures are not yet forgotten and will continue to see development from the company. It recently saw more concrete evidence from the recent reports of its collaboration with LG, with the company focusing on the next-generation Quest Pro to see an update soon.
