Removing background from images has been made easier through the years, but this is getting more reach for users via Paint, with Microsoft introducing a new tool to select users for now. It is expected that this feature will soon bring the tool for all to experience, no longer needing a Mac or various online tools to help in lifting a subject from flat images.
Before, not everyone had the skills or patience to remove images, especially from platforms like Adobe Photoshop, with simpler processes emerging.
Remove Background via Paint: Microsoft's New Tool

According to Dave Grochocki, Principal Product Lead at Microsoft, a new tool is coming to Microsoft's modern version of Paint, leveraging in a way to remove background straight from the app. However, this will be available on selected channels first, and as per Microsoft, will roll out to Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels (version 11.2306.30.0).
The background removal tool is currently under limited testing in these channels, with Microsoft promising to simplify the process of doing so in just a click. This tool promises to leave users a smooth cutout of the subject in their image, giving users a cutout of their image that is rid of the background.
It would not be a problem for Microsoft's latest tool as it could do it from flat images as is.

Microsoft Paint's Remove Background Tool Coming
According to The Verge, the Paint's Background Removal tool is coming soon, but for now, will be available in the exclusive channels.
To use the feature, users only need to upload or drag their chosen image to the Paint app, then navigate to the toolbar's upper left corner and click "remove background."
Users could also opt to choose a selection to only rid of a certain part.
Microsoft Paint and its Developments
Microsoft Paint has been a cultural icon for a long time now, and this was because it was one of the earliest built-in apps that helped boost creativity and art on computers via Microsoft's Windows since 1985. For almost forty years, Paint became a popular tool to find on Windows, whether it be used for creating outputs, doodling, or random creations, it was there for all.
At one time, Microsoft took notice of a rendition of Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night done with Paint, dividing the world if it should be sold by the company as an NFT.
It already received massive revamp throughout the years, also having different names from being MS Paint, to Windows Paint, to Microsoft Paint, and now, Paint 3D.
To the world's delight, Paint still made it to Windows 11, despite being the subject of memes and online fun from the present, but remains an iconic software from Microsoft. With rumors of an AI revamp for Paint coming soon, the latest development from Microsoft only shows that it is keeping Paint alive, now adding more tools to its arsenal including "remove background."
