A cheaper, more affordable Samsung foldable smartphone was reportedly coming next year, but this latest update speculated a half as much cheaper pricing for future releases. Next year, there are expectations that Samsung will bring the Galaxy Z Flip6 and the Galaxy Z Fold6, but it will be joined by an all-new third variant that will offer mid-range pricing.

Upgrading to foldable smartphones may be hard, especially with its premium pricing among various brands, but Samsung may soon make it competitive to deliver the expanding experience.

A new report by a renowned leaker, Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) via X, claimed that Samsung's upcoming cheaper and affordable smartphones are set to be half the price that they are offered now.

The next foldable may range from $400 to $500 to start, and these prices are 50 percent more affordable compared to the latest Z Flip and Z Fold pricing respectively.

It remains unknown what Samsung would call these new foldables, especially as the "Fan Edition," a.k.a. the "FE," has been the namesake for the more affordable Galaxy S series variants there was.

Moreover, it was unveiled that Samsung would sacrifice some features for the cheaper foldable, offered as mid-range smartphones soon.

Are These the Cheapest Foldables Coming in the Industry?

The unlocked Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5's lowest variant, the 256GB choice, is available for only $999.99. And on the other hand, the Galaxy ZFold 5's 256GB option is priced at $1,799.99.

It was regarded that the $400 to $500 pricing is an "aggressive goal" for Samsung to offer, especially as it is a significant jump from its present variants' pricing for its foldable offers. Nevertheless, this may help bring a competitive price tag that may invite more people to try out its foldable and make the switch but remains as leaks and speculations for the time being, slated for late 2024.

The Growing Foldable Smartphone Market

Foldable smartphones are still considered a niche now, as the consumer tech industry is still at a crossroads between opting for folding screens or flat, standard ones for their device. However, many companies are offering their take on foldable devices, with Samsung known for leading the charge with its Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5, their latest in the market.

Chinese smartphone companies are also massive on this technological venture, with the likes of Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Google, and more joining in on their offers of foldables.

In this year alone, there have been a lot of foldables made available to the public in the current market, with massive names joining in to offer their latest developments on foldables.

The latest reports regarding Samsung plans a massive price drop for the South Korean company's future foldables, with as much as 50 percent off its regular lineup for the upcoming mid-range, affordable devices by next year.
